This isn’t my story but it’s close enough that I swear I heard myself telling it.
It was put together by North Point Community Church, which is where Jess and I attend. When I first walked in the doors with Jess I was still newly returned. I felt like wound that had it’s bandage removed too quickly. Fresh air hurt. I felt like everyone around me would know that I was a former atheist and I’d be immediately shunned. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
God Bless Andy Stanley and North Point, they truly have created an environment where the un-churched feel welcome. And, it seems, I’m not the only former atheist in the house afterall. I guess I can take the proverbial “scarlett letter” off my shirt now.

First of all, nice to hear that you’ve found a stabilizing force in your life. Alas, this is widely misunderstood subject. Atheist doesn’t ask god for guidance or proof. Atheist does not believe in any god or gods, you can’t win an reasoning atheist over to theism. Agnostics on the other hand, agnostics are not sure about the existence of god. Agnostics leave him or herself the choice of deciding whether they truly feel god or not. Your description fits agnosticism very well. I haven’t met any true atheist who have converter. Some agnostic converted to theisms I do know. Also, many believers mistakenly consider themselves to have been “atheists” in the past, but as later is revealed, always were curious about god or at least questioned, if god does really exist or not. Well, that’s my opinion. Thanks for reading.
